The venue for the Gala Rose Ball on May 11th has been confirmed - the Santa Maria Goretti Centre.  There will be ample room for more couples to attend our most popular event of the season.

Thank you to all the members who completed the Club survey in December.  We are tabulating the results and will share them with you once available.

The "Victorian Christmas" Dinner Dance on Dec 2nd was very popular and a great start to the Christmas season.  The Sugar Swing Club and the FootNotes performance group each did demonstration dances.  There was also a re-enactment of a Les Amies tradition from the early days of the Club - a parade of waiters bringing in roasted turkey served on platters.  All part of celebrating the 90th Anniversary of the Les Amies Dance Club!

The 2011-12 season is the 90th anniversary of the Les Amies Dance Club.  If you have ideas for ways we can celebrate this milestone, please contact a member of the Executive.

  • Large permanent hardwood dance floor with limited attendance to avoid crowding
  • An elegant evening out (Formal/Semi-formal attire please)
  • Three Dinner Dances at the Italian Cultural Centre - featuring 3-course meals served homestyle or plate service with wine available for purchase
  • Three Social Dances at the St. John's Cultural Centre - includes light snacks, tea, coffee and soft drinks

We are a Club that enjoys all forms of ballroom dancing and takes pride in offering "special evenings out" at formal dance events with a live band.

Les Amies Dance Club

An Edmonton Ballroom Dance Tradition Since 1922

The Les Amies Dance Club is located in Edmonton and has been a ballroom dance tradition since 1922. Come join us for incredible evenings of great dining and ballroom dancing at one of Edmonton's largest formal dance floors. All dances include a good mix of fox-trot, swing, waltz, cha-cha, rumba, samba, quickstep, polka, and tango.

Come and experience Les Amies Dance Club as a guest or become a Club member and attend as many of our dances during the year as your schedule allows.
